Ruby: The Gem of the Sun

Rubies, known as the gem of the sun, have a deep and ancient association with vitality, strength, and protection. Their deep red hue has historically represented life and blood, celebrated and utilized by many ancient cultures. The unique fluorescence of rubies is caused by UV rays making the stone light up from the inside, akin to an inner fire. 

Rubies are powerful tools for stimulating the root chakra, bringing additional life force, vitality, courage and overall well-being.

Historically, red stones such as rubies were believed to cure blood and inflammatory diseases, hemorrhages, and anemia. Honoring the ritual of menstruation and the cycle, presence, and story of life-giving blood in the archetype of the Goddess and the Mother, and for those that can give birth and life...the poetry of the root chakra and our womb. 

This gemstone can eliminate feelings of hopelessness and defeat, opening a wellspring of optimism and determination necessary for accomplishing difficult goals (ie: abolition of the patriarchy).They help individuals aspire to their highest selves, stimulating the base chakra and traditional prosperity, attracting wealth, and proves an ally for infertility.  Rubies impart self-confidence and a sense of adventure, helping individuals move forward in life.

Their resilience allows them to endure intense conditions without special maintenance, much like the strength and fortitude of birth givers. One of the most notable features of rubies is their high hardness, second only to diamonds. It is said in sacred adornment, the harder stones, which come from the deepest layer of the earth, do the “soul work”. 

The intention with our ring is the symbol of the village. The village that it takes to raise a child and care for a mother/parent. A sacred adornment and amulet worn with, for, and in support of those in desire of children, those with child, those giving birth in this moment and those that protect and want the right to choose.
